To The Bite, my MFA thesis exhibition, opens in one week and will be on view until April 10th at 205 Gallery at 205 Hudson Street in Manhattan. If you want to come by, I’ll be at the gallery most days from 11am-7pm. Feel free to get in contact if you want to arrange a walkthrough.
On April 3rd from 7-9pm, I will be performing a didactic DJ set in the gallery. The event is free but space will be limited so please plan on arriving early if you wish to attend.

In three weeks I will be presenting an audio performance as part of my thesis exhibition at Hunter College’s MFA program.
‘Didactic DJ set’ is a term I coined in 2023 to describe a specific performance I engaged in when asked to play music after the Israeli military’s disproportionate and genocidal response to Hamas’s October 7th attack.
Working with the prompt “What do you play during a genocide?” I combined field recordings I had made while living in Palestine and working there as a journalist from 2013-2017 with music from the SWANA region, sounds from mediated sources within Gaza, the West Bank, and the ‘48 (Internationally recognized Israeli sovereign territory), as well as audio gathered from anti-Zionist protests in NYC after 10/7.
This upcoming performance will employ similar material in addition to new field recordings from Palestine, gathered during a recent visit over the winter. I will also be working with a novel method of live-sound creation using contact microphones.
The event is free but space will be limited. I encourage you to come early if you wish to attend. The gallery will be open before the performance where the exhibition ‘To The Bite’ with works from myself and members of my thesis cohort will be on view.
