Our shared staff courtyard with @timebasedarts is starting to come together!
A big thank you to @frostslandscapesltd for supplying the gravel, soil and mulch.
Welcome to the studio, Eden and Jun! 💚
Eden joins us as a Landscape Architect, bringing experience across landscape and architecture. His hands-on approach spans from early concept stages through to construction on site, combining a sharp eye for detail with a deep understanding of how things come together in the built environment.
Jun joins us as a Landscape Architect, bringing experience from South Korea to London and from projects across the globe, including time at BIG London. With a background across landscape, architecture and urban design, he is passionate about leading in the definition of space within landscape-led masterplans.
We’re excited to see their ideas take shape. Give them a warm welcome!
Fantastic to see Telford Living’s proposed 520-bed student accommodation scheme in Bethnal Green move forward with a planning application. Working alongside the wider team, our Landscape Strategy helps shape welcoming outdoor spaces including a central courtyard garden, landscaped terraces, biodiverse roofs and enhanced greening throughout the site. A strong focus on wellbeing, biodiversity and high-quality design will help create a vibrant place for future residents and the local community.

Some of the most important design conversations happen away from the studio.
Recently, we’ve been visiting quarries, factories and nurseries alongside clients, contractors and specialist fabricators. We’ve reviewed stone at its source, walked through emerging tree canopies, and seen first-hand the precision and craft behind the materials we specify.
Landscape is shaped by a combination of natural processes and human intervention. Some elements are grown, others extracted or manufactured, each carrying its own story and responsibility. For Spacehub, it’s essential that every material and its purpose is carefully considered.
If we take from the ground, there must be value in that decision. Stone, trees and materials should serve multiple functions, support longevity, and enrich the experience of those who use the spaces we design.
Sharing these behind-the-scenes moments helps reveal the depth of thinking behind landscape architecture. It’s not just about the finished image. There is rigor in selection, an awareness of finite resources, and a responsibility to ensure that what we specify delivers lasting environmental and social value.
Ultimately, making places is a collaboration between nature, materials and people.
In collaboration with Wandsworth Borough Council and HTA Architects, Spacehub is pleased to share that planning permission has been granted for Block A, part of the transformation of the Alton Estate in Roehampton.
Spacehub is shaping the landscape that will support new affordable homes and a landmark community hub.
The design establishes a welcoming and connected environment, with greener streets, new civic spaces and a network of play and communal areas for residents. A new community play landscape at Hersham Close, a shared courtyard for residents and improved pedestrian routes will support everyday social life across the estate.
Key features include 40 new trees, a biodiversity net gain of almost 30 percent and 767m² of play space, exceeding policy requirements. The scheme also significantly strengthens urban greening at a key entrance to the estate and introduces diverse planting and habitats across the site.
The proposals have been shaped through engagement with local residents and the Youth Advisory Panel, responding to calls for greener spaces, better play opportunities and safer, more welcoming routes.

We were inspired by tropical jungles growing up and over Mesoamerican temples in our latest foray into iconic building refurbishment. Together with client @dominusisus and architect @studio_moren , 1930’s Art Deco Ibex House is being brought back into use as a landmark hotel - achieving planning and listed building consent.
Hotel guests will enjoy their view over the City of London through a veil of bold foliage and seasonal colour. At ground level, a welcoming and inclusive entrance and café terrace is enveloped by tiered planting and ornamental trees.

We are really proud to say Camley Street was unanimously granted planning permission. This is testament to the exemplar collaboration between everyone in the design team, our clients (3 of them!) and the endlessly impressive local community. We’ve loved working with you all.
Camley Street as a place has been our focus all the way through – enhancing this north / south route between Kings Cross and Camden into a healthy, dynamic and playful neighbourhood spine, stitching communities new and old and delivering excellent active travel links.
Brand new public open spaces along the Camley Street Spine have been shaped by those who live and work around Camley Street – with an emphasis on providing diverse, safe and inclusive places with play for all ages, outdoor classroom environments, flexible and hardworking yard space, nature-based rainwater storage and climate resilient legacy tree planting.
Really exciting things to come – watch this space.

Design process can be fun and vibrant!
We’ve recently welcomed two beautiful new tables made by Giles and Fiona, and they’ve already seen plenty of action. It’s amazing how simple interventions can change how we work, from design charrettes and sketching sessions to ideas flying everywhere.
We’re excited to step away from our screens a little more, gather in person, and dream and sketch together in the studio. While we’ve always done lots of pen-to-paper work, 2026 is shaping up to be about more thinking by hand and more making together.
We’re delighted that the planning application for the Thames Road site has been unanimously approved by London Borough of Newham. Working closely with @howells_makes and on behalf of @ballymore , Spacehub have led the design of the landscape and public realm for this major mixed-use regeneration project.
The proposals will deliver new homes, shops, a school, and industrial uses, alongside a landscape-led public realm strategy that opens up 250m of the Thames Path for public access for the first time. The masterplan creates a new riverside park, a community play street, densely planted courtyard gardens and a series of garden squares marking key thresholds into the neighbourhood.
A sustainable drainage strategy utilises green infrastructure throughout the public realm, courtyards and on-street rain gardens to attenuate surface water without the need for engineered solutions. Over 700 trees and a diverse mix of planting typologies will dramatically increase soft landscape across the site and support a significant uplift in biodiversity.
This approval marks a major milestone for a complex, long-running project in the Royal Docks. We’re proud to be part of the team helping to unlock the site’s regeneration potential and look forward to the next stages.
