CO-DESIGN: A common thread in our work is rethinking who gets to tell the stories of a place. When we are creating public artwork we prioritise capturing local perspectives and using them to shape the outcome, so that people get those magical 'I made that,' moments.

As an accompaniment to our work on Petticoat Lane Heritage Trail with @london.historic.buildings we also worked with Mulberry Canon Barnett Primary School to prepare a series of school packs to support local schools and families in learning about the Petticoat Lane Heritage Trail on the street, at home and in the classroom.
This part of the project was funded by Toynbee Hall and delivered by heritage education specialist Gemma Smith and make:good.
Anyone interested in seeing the trail for themselves can pick up a kids’ activity book from the reception at Toynbee Hall. Look out for our fancy cardboard stand, and make sure to scan the QR code on each page for more information about each theme!
Address: Toynbee Hall, 28 Commercial St, London E1 6LS
The sun came out on Saturday for our spring Makers Market at Grow Box. We love celebrating local makers and creators and we had so many talented people all in once place. Thanks to our stallholders and to all those that came along and bought something - or just came to enjoy the atmosphere!
When we spoke to visitors to Stratford Shopping Centre last year, one of the improvements suggested was brightening up the space with artwork and colour. With this in mind, over the past couple of months we have been working with the centre to create a co-designed mural situated in the South Mall. We held creative pop-ups inside the centre, at XLP youth club and @thedovetail_ , asking people 'What makes Stratford special to you?' We've been working hard to adapt their artwork into something big, bright and beautiful.

Our most recent newsletter focused on the subject of working with estates and our approach. We're not shy about our support for more social housing, and we know that one of the ways Councils can build more is looking at their existing housing estates with a combination of replace and refurbish. It is never easy work (but we don't take the easy path very often anyhow) and the relationship with residents is key. This is where we work best, investing in really getting to know people, listening and amplifying their insight and sitting in the hard conversations being willing to consistently show up.
Read our blog for some of the things we've learnt along the way:

Team make:good were out and about in Plumstead last week talking to local businesses about their priorities for the area. Once again we were blown away by the power of popping in and talking to people. Yes sending a bunch of emails might take less time, but it’s rare to get lots of feedback from them so we do what we do best and got out there to talk to people face to face. We had a great afternoon, spoke to loads of businesses and have a better understanding of what business priorities are.
