Before a place exists, it needs to be imagined. For @placesforlondon we created a series of illustrated sketches bringing the future of Lockton Street Arches to life — a set of refurbished spaces designed to support new and growing businesses in North Kensington, as part of the Grow London Local programme. Illustration becomes a tool to visualise what’s yet to come: how the spaces will feel, how they will be used, how people will interact with them. Applications are now open until 8 May. If you’re one of those businesses ready to grow, this could be your place. Apply now.

What does a new gateway for science and innovation look like? @iqhqreit and Trinity College have launched a public consultation for a new development at Cambridge Science Park, one of the UK’s most established science and technology clusters. The proposals introduce a new arrival experience for the Park, combining research and workspace with improved public realm, connectivity and wellbeing. Our role: a comprehensive set of materials designed to translate that vision into clear, accessible and engaging content. A project by Studio Sustancia x @conciliocomms

On Thursday 5 March, Nick, Daniel and Salvatore will be swapping warm beds for sleeping bags in Cambridge as they take part in this year’s LandAid SleepOut. The challenge is simple, but the cause is not. In 2023/24, nearly 118,000 young people approached their local council because they were homeless or at risk of homelessness. Across the UK, too many young people are living on the brink, facing uncertainty at a stage in life that should be defined by opportunity. For many, that reality is compounded by rising living costs, mental health pressures and limited support networks. The numbers are sobering, but the human stories behind them matter even more. @landaidcharity unites the property industry to back charities on the frontline, funding safe places to stay, specialist support services and practical pathways out of homelessness. The SleepOut is a powerful way for our sector to stand together and convert awareness into action. We’re proud to be involved and to support work that creates tangible, lasting impact for young people who need stability and opportunity. If you can, please donate to support the team. Your contribution will help ensure more young people have access to safety, support and a genuine chance to build a better future. 🔗 Click the link in our bio to support us! /fundraisers/concilio

🚨 In the latest episode of Concilio’s Better Places podcast, led by Account Director Siddo Dwyer, we sit down with Mark Thomson, Planning Director at @savills , and Rosie Ashton, Design Manager at @verv.life , to discuss the rise of co-living, what it is, who it’s for, and whether it can help tackle two of London’s biggest challenges: the housing crisis and urban loneliness. Key points discussed: - Co-living offers a professionally managed, community-focused alternative to HMOs, with private studios, all-inclusive bills, and flexible tenures. - Thoughtful design and curated events help tackle urban loneliness, creating welcoming social spaces that genuinely encourage connection. - New regulations have driven better-zoned, higher-quality studio layouts, while clustered amenities and strong local partnerships enhance resident experience. - Co-living provides cost certainty and potential for discounted-market options for key workers, challenging misconceptions about quality and affordability. - With clearer, more flexible policy, co-living could play a bigger role in London’s housing mix and help ease pressure on traditional rental supply. For anyone interested in housing innovation, rental market reform, community-led placemaking, or how London can diversify supply in the face of mounting pressures, this episode offers insight into the new opportunities shaping the next generation of urban living. 🎧📺 You can listen and watch via the link in our bio!

🚨 In the latest episode of Concilio’s Better Places podcast, Siddo Dwyer sits down with Cllr Grace Williams, Leader of London Borough of Waltham Forest and Deputy Chair of London Councils, holding the Housing and Regeneration brief. The discussion dives into the borough’s bold decisions on: - developments in Blackhorse Lane and Walthamstow - the transformation of the Town Hall Quarter - Soho Theatre Walthamstow’s cultural pull - how the Local Plan is guiding future growth Cllr Williams also reflects on the realities behind the government reducing the affordable housing threshold from 35% to 20% and her continued commitment to delivering genuinely affordable homes, and how trust, design excellence, and community dialogue underpin every major decision.   This episode offers a grounded, optimistic look at how political leadership, strong design principles, and a culture-led approach can shape better places – and what Waltham Forest’s journey tells us about the future of regeneration in London. 🎧 Listen via the link in our bio!

🚨 On the latest episode of the Concilio Better Places Podcast, Account Director Sam Griffiths sat down with Professor Tony Travers of @londonschoolofeconomics (LSE), to preview the upcoming London local elections in May 2026. The discussion covers topics including: 🗳️ How is the rise of independent groups in parts of East London going to challenge Labour’s traditional dominance in these areas, and what ideology drives these new campaigners? 🟢 How will the new Green Party Leader Zack Polanski, and his energetic brand of ‘eco-populism’, impact the race and tempt younger votes away from Labour? 🟡 Are the Liberal Democrats poised to make gains, not just in their traditional strongholds in South-West London but also in the centre of the city? 🔵 Can the Conservatives stage a fightback and take back control of their former ‘flagship’ councils like Westminster and Wandsworth? 🟣 What will the Reform UK factor be? How will Farage’s upstart party disrupt the contest and what councils could they win? 🏘️ And finally, what does this upheaval mean for planning and development in the capital? This episode is a must-listen if you want to understand the current state of the race to control London’s councils next year, and how planning and development could change in the capital as a result. 🎧 Listen and watch now via the link in our bio!

🚨🎙️ Concilio x JL Partners Better Places podcast In this episode, Managing Director, Nick Dines, sits down with James Johnson, Co-Founder of JL Partners and former pollster to Theresa May, to unpack what’s really driving @thereformpartyuk ‘s surge - and what it could mean for the future of British politics. James shares insights from JL Partners’ latest polling, including: - The Winter Fuel Allowance Effect: how a single policy U-turn continues to erode Labour’s support. - The Reform Voter Profile: why many “Pessimistic Patriots” are motivated by public services and housing, not culture wars. - The Path to Power: how Reform’s appeal could align with First Past the Post to deliver a potential majority. - The Competence Trap: why voters increasingly prioritise conviction and delivery over image and tradition. It’s an unfiltered look at the biggest political shift in a generation — and essential listening for anyone trying to make sense of what could be coming next. 🎧 Listen and watch via the link in our bio! 📩 And stay tuned! Next week, we’ll publish the second edition of our Inside Reform report series, exploring the party’s expanding footprint in local government — from early moves by Reform-led councils and mayoral policy calls, to the party’s growing number of by-election gains across the country. 🚨 New episode of Concilio’s Better Places podcast! At this year’s @uklabour Party Conference, one of the key themes was the urgent need to build more homes and restore confidence in the market. But as our panel discussed, London’s future isn’t just about housing numbers - it’s also about placemaking, culture, and the experience economy. Hosted by Concilio’s Yiannis Sophocleous and Siddo Dwyer, we asked: How do we Make London Fun Again? 🎙️ Our brilliant panel: - Cllr Geoffrey Barraclough  - Cabinet Member for Planning & Economic Development, Westminster City Council - Cllr Portia Mwangangye - Cabinet Member for Leisure, Parks & Young People, Southwark Council - Antonia Stratford - Head of Public Affairs, Heart of London Business Alliance - Graeme Craig - Chief Executive, Places for London Key takeaways: 👉 London’s diversity is its greatest strength - celebrate and protect it. 👉 Housing and community building are investments in London’s and the UK’s future. 👉 Young people and diverse communities must be central to consultations and policy. 👉 The West End’s experience economy is pivotal to London’s global standing - business, culture, and government need to work hand-in-hand to keep it competitive. 🎧 Listen and watch via the link in our bio!
