It was great working with @craftspace_ on their touring exhibition Made in the Middle. The show drew together 37 artists whose work highlights the innovative contemporary crafts being made in the Midlands today. The artists represent the region’s vibrant and diverse creative community and include both emerging talents and established names. The wide range of objects, materials, skills, processes and techniques on display provide inspiration for anyone interested in making, seeing or buying craft. Growing up in the Midlands myself, it was a pleasure to respond to a brief celebrating the rich heritage and positive impact of diversity and migration in the region. - Design included exhibition identity, 2D design, marketing and accompanying catalogue (pictured). With a focus on materials and sustainability, the show build was made from previous builds. - The exhibition is the ninth in the Made in the Middle series and toured to galleries across the Midlands through 2025 and into 2026. It’s always a pleasure working with @artistemmasmith . Here’s some images from a project last year, Old Friends (2025), Cinder Track Sculpture Trail, Wild Eye. Wild Eye is a partnership between @invisible_dust and @yorkshirewildlifetrust_ . • Old Friends is a series of six multi-part, multi-species, artworks (5 permanent and 1 living) installed along the Cinder Track, a historic railway line that ran between Scarborough and Whitby and is now a popular cycleway, footpath and important green corridor for wildlife. The multi-sensory works use planting, wilding, wood, earthwork, seeds and the bio-adaptive textures of a fossil dense stone to create dwell spaces for humans and non-human beings. Design included exhibition identity, and as part of the launch, the project also featured a public poster trail with botanical drawings by local school children and a podcast exploring the artwork’s themes and ecological connections. The drawings were made mixing earth and water as the pigment, this natural tone was used throughout all aspects of the design. A Cinder Track seed mix created with @growscarborough is available at @scarboroughlibrary for local communities. 🌿

I can't believe it's been 3 years since the launch of Madge Gill by Myrninerest - a book embodying the culmination of years of research into Madge’s life and work, a project very close to my heart. The book was launched in 2019 to accompany the @morrisgallery exhibition. It was published by the one and only @roughtradebooks , and to celebrate the anniversary they are offering an extra special discount, subscribe to their mailing list to claim today. • Designed with @studio_h.m

Lovely working with @z.e.l.d.a_a.r.t developing their new identity, the website is currently under construction and launching soon. • ZELDA is a new proposition for an arts advisory: Artist-centred with a holistic approach, they cover a range of curatorial and consultancy services for artists, collectors, and organisations. It was interesting thinking about representing an accessible and non-hierarchical framework for their arts platform.

Film titles for a powerful and beautiful documentary by @kathrynferguson about a women’s centre situated in the middle of The Village, a Loyalist area in Belfast. — In Kathryn’s words: ‘The centre is an oasis for vulnerable women and supports them in accessing childcare, education and mental health support. The film follows their journey throughout the past few years as they face financial insecurity and learn to navigate the pandemic. It’s about the strength and resilience of the women that run it and the women that use it. I shot this film when eight months pregnant with the plan to go back and shoot the rest of it in March 2020… so it very nearly didn’t get finished. I’m glad it did.’ — Producers @phoebemayford and Lizzie Gillet @passionpicturesfilms Editor @carlyrbaker Cinematography @saradeanedop Score & sound design @diehexen Poem @jancarsonstories Grade @faithmillincolour Extra music smileystudios Graphics Sophie Dutton Sound mix Nas Parkash and team @molinarepost Extra thanks to team at #niscreen and christinemmorrow77 and The Guardian Docs team @katyaochagavia @charliechar @lindsay_poulton
