It was an absolute honour to grade 'Nothing Compares' the debut feature film for director @kathrynferguson which recently premiered at @sundanceorg film festival. I have worked with Kathryn for many years and what always strikes me is not only her attention to detail in every single aspect of her filmmaking, but her unwavering commitment to tell the stories of those whose voices have silenced. Sinead O’Connor, a groundbreaking artist way ahead of her time, was punished for voicing her political opinions and for pushing the boundaries of social norm for the time, the very beginning of 'cancel culture' as we know it. In Kathryn’s words: ‘It’s been a moving experience to be part of a collective celebration of Sinead’s music, artistry and activism and to see her being revered by audiences, as she should.’ I look forward to sharing some of the beautiful imagery from the film along with more about our colour collaboration after its theatrical release in Ireland, UK and US later this year. A huge thank you to the @washldn team for doing such an immense job on colour production. Yesterday in Paris, @faithkipyegon ran the fastest mile ever recorded by a woman. In her pursuit of breaking the 4 minute mile (something no woman has ever achieved) Faith cemented her standing as the most decorated woman middle-distance athlete of all time.  Faith reminds us all that courage is found in the trying when the outcome is not guaranteed. It’s not if - it’s when. WELL DONE FAITH!!!!! THANK YOU to the incredible @blue.ox for having me colour this stunning set of films for @nike announcing Faith’s @nike Breaking4 performance. The light in Kenya (just like Faith) is unbeatable! It was an absolute pleasure to work with the immensely talented team over at @dada.projects on this recent fashion holiday campaign. The campaign is set within a stylised 3D winter forest, designed intricately by the Dada team to balance authenticity and fantasy. ‘Our goal was to create an elegant backdrop featuring melting icicles on petals, frozen fungi, frost-covered moss, and glittering snow - bringing a magical yet natural atmosphere to life.’ Dada. This project was a perfect blend of creative and technical collaboration with the Dada team and ourselves here @washldn . I absolutely loved grading these magical worlds!!!🎨 Big thanks to @disfordisco for colour production🔥, @chris_bell_is_grade for being my right hand man and grading the product films so beautifully and to @rubylilycolour for the always magnificent colour assistance. My dream team in action! Thank you to the wonderful Dada team, Alice Shaughnessy and @roannetoosy for having me on board for this magical project! 🎨

This was a special one for me for a few reasons. I first met director @marcusfoster1 back in our UAL art school days, there was a crew of us that managed to cross the LCC / Chelsea south London divide 👩🏻‍🎨😂 Reconnecting many years later in the grade suite was an absolute joy. This was also one of the last projects I did before I took some time out of the colour suite to have my baby boy. The High Ground - a film following those displaced by the flooding in South Sudan, directed by David Lane @lane_and_associates to accompany J.M Ledgards’ piece for @alxrfeatures This original footage was printed using the lumen and chemigram process which is a direct contact of the film negative to darkroom paper and exposed with UV light.  This beautiful yet painstaking process (a total of 1500 frames were printed by hand for this film!) was undertaken using expired papers by the talented @_eddcarr_ and @sustainabledarkroom In the grade, Dave and I were keen to protect the organic (almost monotone) aesthetic that this printing process naturally brings, whilst celebrating the more vivid moments allowing them to sing through the paper in movement.  This project was the definition of creative and technical team work and was a privilege to get to work as part of this innovative process.  Was also great to reconnect with man like @hector_aponysus on this too! ☝🏼 Credits: Directed by David Lane Narrated by: Adau Abraham & Garang Akol Deng Made in collaboration with @_eddcarr_ and @sustainabledarkroom Production: Chloe Dixon-Goulden and @hector_aponysus Editor: @manuelmolla Score: @helicalsound Colourist: @faithmillincolour Post production: @purple_martin_studio Printing: @_eddcarr_  & @jasmineskeathphoto Creative direction @lane_and_associates  creative lead @hector_aponysus

So pleased to see this film out in the world. 🎨 ‘Animals’ directed by Greg Cruttwell is a short film about the effects that violent football fandom has had on a young man’s life.
