* UPDATE * From Eric at @bigwrenchpiano “Sometime in 1974, the code was switched to week/year/day, where 1581 is interpreted as 15th week, 1978, 1st day of the work week (Monday). When 1980 arrived, the year digit started over at 0, so 1501 would be 15th week, 1980, 1st day of the work week.” You have a post fender era mark 1 which was made 1975-1979, so it looks like it was made the 32nd week of 1976, 3rd day of the work week _______ 3263 = the 32nd week of 1963 = the manufacture date stamp for the Rhodes piano which now lives at Echoland ✨ This model is the Mark I Stage 73, which was produced by Fender from 1969-1975 - curiously, the date stamp on our Rhodes predates commercial production for the Rhodes Mark I by 6 years. Why? I haven't been able to figure it out yet and am making inquiries into why this Rhodes appears to have been produced 6 years before the Mark I model was commercially available. Please share any info you may have on this - we will update as we learn more about the history of this rhodes piano, previously owned by Philadelphia based musician Randall Grass and sourced by Gino Wong, friend mentor and strategic advisor to @emeapp Big thanks to @bigwrenchpiano for the house call to get this beautiful piano into working order on short notice!
