(🎧 encouraged) (Read below) Tech Tip: How to Easily Loosen and Tighten Your Tension Rods . . . As we all know, when it comes to drums, it’s the little things that can make a massive difference. Having the right tools when changing out your drumheads is one of those things we may or may not think about often. One of the tools we use as drummers — but tend to lose instead of keep — is drum keys. For a long time, drum keys all looked relatively the same and functioned similarly. Until now!! Over the past two years, the @evansdrumheads R&D team has been working on a product that redefines what a drum key can be. That product is called the Pull Cord Drum Key. “The Evans Pull Cord Drum Key combines the speed of a power drill with the precision and control of a traditional drum key. This tool features a unique horizontal key head connected to a retractable coil spring pull cord system, enabling rapid and effortless tightening or loosening of tension rods. Additionally, the third key head is fixed for precise fine-tuning adjustments.” I’ve had the pleasure of putting several prototypes to work over the past seven-plus months, and I can assure you that this key delivers exactly as described. Now, of course, an impact drill is still much quicker — but once you get good at using this key, it’s not by much. And last time I checked, you can’t throw a power drill in your back pocket. 😉 In the end, this new tool provides a way to change out your drumheads quickly and effectively, allowing you to worry less and play more!! What do you guys think? What drum key do you normally use? Would you try this new tool from Evans? Leave a comment and let’s talk about it! Stay creative, and have a great rest of the week. Love you guys!! Okay, byeeeee! 🥁🤓👊🏻❤️🙏🏻 — #testabeatdrums #doityourself #tipsandtricks #drumhacks #techtips
