Happy 80th birthday to guitarist Robert Fripp! We're happy to have a piece of Fripp's legacy as part of our collection. You know him as the mastermind behind King Crimson, but he's also done some amazing work with David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno, Talking Heads, Blondie, Toyah and more. We often use his famous quote of "Tuning a Mellotron doesn't" when talking about the history of the instrument on our tours. Hope you're enjoying your day Robert! Many happy returns! #robertfripp #kingcrimson #tuningamellotrondoesnt #exposure #frippertronics

Went on an adventure to the Museum of Music Technology with some of my Machine mates and got to play on Keith Emerson’s modular synth and hammond organ! They had so many amazing analog instruments there that were once on the road with lots of bands I love…what an experience 🤯 🎹 #scottchasolen #themachinelive #emeapp #analogkeys

In one week, we have electronic music pioneer Don Slepian presenting our first ever Masterclass! Described as a "sonic test pilot," Don Slepian’s career spans the history of modern music technology. From his days as an Artist-in-Residence at Bell Labs to his groundbreaking ambient masterpieces like Sea of Bliss, Don has spent decades redefining what is possible with a keyboard and bridging classical technique with cutting‑edge synthesis. A lifelong builder and experimenter, Don began programming computers and designing electronic‑music circuitry in the late 1960s, developing a signature neoclassical style that blends expressive keyboard performance with custom digital and analog sound design. His work has been featured at Lincoln Center, on WNYC’s New Sounds, and during a residency at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, and he has performed widely as a soloist, ensemble member, and improviser. Known for his fluid touch, deep musicality, and ability to make electronic instruments feel alive under the hands, Slepian brings decades of technical insight and performance experience to his teaching, offering students a rare chance to learn directly from one of the early innovators of modern electronic keyboard artistry. In this masterclass, Don strips away the dense technical jargon to show you how to truly "speak" through your instruments. Seating is limited, so get your tickets now at themmt.org! #donslepian #electronicmusic #pioneer #masterclass #museum
