Recent work for the @washingtonpost featuring the iconic Mexican designer, Manuel Cuevas, ( @manuelcouture )who pioneered the cowboy couture look that flourishes to this day. His influence in fashion can be seen on the stages of Nashville to the runaways of Paris. It was an honor to work on this story and shine a light on Manuel’s incredible legacy that includes designing clothes for country music royalty like Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn and Elvis. Not to mention Mexican superstars like Los Tigres del Norte and Juan Gabriel.

Rick is a country music singer songwriter from the Lone Star State. His debut single, “Just Enough Rope” ("Bastante Cordón") released in 1993, was the first mainstream country single to be released in both English and Spanish.
He has been nominated for Male Vocalist of the year by the ACM Awards and won a grammy for his work with the super group, Los Super Seven alongside band members such as Freddy Fender, Ruben Ramos, and Flaco Jiménez.

I was introduced to Star’s music in 2021 via @rissipalmermusic podcast @colormecountryradio and was blown away to learn about this badass Latina making soulful Texas country music and that she was also the first Latina signed to a major country music label.
Fast forward four years later and I had the pleasure of working with Star in her home state. We met at the historic San Antonio Market Square, on the very same streets where she began her musical career. It was a really cool experience to see where it all stared for her.
