We caught a rare moody cloud day in LA. The sun peaked out just in the last 15 minutes. Really felt designed.

Grateful to be part of this campaign and to collaborate with organizations doing real work in their communities. Always fulfilling to get to do work with nonprofits.
Started bringing steadicam into the doc world. Getting to improvise motion alongside real moments with the subjects feels like graduating again.

7 Frames from the Midnight Oji Fox Parade New Years Celebration.

According to old legends, on New Year’s Eve, foxes from all over the Kanto region gathered in Oji underneath a large hackberry tree. After donning costumes, the foxes then proceeded to Oji Inari Shrine at the start of the new year. Shozoku Inari Shrine is dedicated beside the tree where the foxes are said to have put on their costumes.
The legend is depicted in Utagawa Hiroshige’s ukiyo-e print “New Year’s Eve Foxfires at the Changing Tree, Oji.”
