Star De Azlan is an award winning songwriter and country artist from Martindale, Texas, carving her own path with the release of her new single, “Adios Cowboy.” Raised in a humble river shack with a large family, she grew up immersed in the sounds of classic country legends like Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, and Loretta Lynn. She began performing young, playing violin in mariachi bands before taking the stage at Cheatham Street Warehouse at just 13, and by 15 was writing her own songs on guitar. Her talent soon carried her across the U.S. and into sold-out venues in Europe. Now stepping into production for the first time, Star is crafting a debut album that blends fresh, diverse sounds with heartfelt stories of love, loss, family, and her Texas roots.

I was introduced to Star’s music in 2021 via @rissipalmermusic podcast @colormecountryradio and was blown away to learn about this badass Latina making soulful Texas country music and that she was also the first Latina signed to a major country music label.
Fast forward four years later and I had the pleasure of working with Star in her home state. We met at the historic San Antonio Market Square, on the very same streets where she began her musical career. It was a really cool experience to see where it all stared for her.
