Mitsubishi Heavy Industries campaign with DP @jakewarddp 

The brief on this three-day, single-location shoot was to bring warm sun rays in through the main windows along the side of The Eveleigh. In reality, those windows just opened up into another interior hallway, not the outside world. To build the sunbeams and rear window light, we used 3x 2400Bs and a single 1200B. Inside, we keyed talent with a 1200x, usually double broken through 4x4 and 12x12 scrims, adding a harder edge with another 1200X fitted with a 5ft Snapbag and 40 degree grid. Ambience was managed through an overhead 20x20 softbox filled with nine Nova P300C panels, and contrast was dialed in with a 12x12 ultra, black side in. 

It’s not everyday we get this large a sandbox to play in, so it was a real treat to bring the space to life alongside such a talented crew.

The team had limited time with Maddi on this one so it was key to set up in a way that let us cycle between a variety of looks quickly. Two Orbiters did the heavy lifting to hit the desired hues on the white cyc while a 1200X with 5ft Snapbag and Grid gave us a cueable controlled key. We’re back with more automotive work alongside DP Tom Roberts for Genesis.

While we lit two different studios at Baker Street across the two days the setup across both had the same foundation, with a 12x12 overhead soft box for seamless reflections and buttery soft shadows. The soft box was supported with box truss on super windups which made repositioning fast and precise.

This was complimented with a variety of soft and hard sources on the floor including Creamsource V8, Aputure 1200X, and Nanlux 2400B, giving shape to Brittany the presenter and bringing attention to details outside and inside the cars from shot to shot.
