*Nodo 002* is born from the creative encounter between *Marilù Lembo* and *Giuditta Vettese*, a collaboration that for four years has been exploring textile art as a living, physical, and experimental language. On the occasion of the opening of the new Levi’s store, the artists present a work that places the theme of interweaving at its core—as gesture, as structure, and as a metaphor for connection—positioning itself in a territory that merges architecture and sculpture.
The knot, an ancient principle of strength and relationship—an impressive form of fluid engineering long used to support great weights—becomes the structural metaphor of encounter: it is at the point where threads connect that form is born, just as Levi’s chooses to weave its identity with that of the city of Milan through a project that celebrates craftsmanship and the generative power of bonds.
Within the dimension of the column, an archetype of support and verticality in architecture, twelve square meters of interwoven material unfold like a landscape in transformation.
The rich materiality of the work is composed of denim, cotton, chenille, and wool—fabrics typical of clothing that, translated into sculpture, generate new three-dimensional forms and tactile textures. Their volume is denser in the upper part and lightened toward the bottom, marking the movement of the material toward the ground. In a suspended balance, the work conveys the constant tension between weight and lightness.
In the repetition of the gesture, one recognizes the legacy of weaving as one of humanity’s primary techniques. The gaze that follows the interlacings traces their rhythm, intuiting the weave of labor that brought them into being.
*Nodo 002* is both body and structure: a work that allows the force of matter to emerge and invites the viewer to read interweaving as form, as gesture, and as relationship.
