Hello Portland! Inspired by our fearless frogs and chickens, we’d like to invite you to an extra special costume contest and group rollout on the south waterfront to resist authoritarianism together with whimsy, community and fun! Come in costume and experience two separate areas of music bridged by a small, DJ led sidewalk skate parade! THERE WILL BE PRIZES! Beginning at 5pm our friends from the Tabor Dance community will be bringing sound and performances by August Scout @augustscout and Casual Decay @casual_decay at the the ICE Detention Center located at Bancroft and Moody from 5-7pm. Meanwhile, Secret Roller Disco will be hosting our usual style event during completely normal hours at our regular location on S Bond Street, located at the West side of the Tilikum Bridge featuring long time favorite Disco B! @disco_dealio At 7pm, NorSou @thirstyavocado will take over sound and music and continue Secret Roller Disco led festivities at the ICE building. At 7:40, Doogie Nights @doogienights and crew @oasis_pdx will lead all interested skaters, bikers and visitors on a musical journey to join up with NorSou at the ICE building where we will award a small selection of prizes to our favorite costumes of the evening! Participation in our costume contest is open to all! After a short celebration there (depending on the variables at the scene), we will parade back to S Bond Street where the usual SRD meetup with Disco B will be continuing the entire time! *Apologies, contrary to our previous announcement, the RCR Skatemobile had staffing difficulties this week and will not be on site with rentals this week. BYOWheels! This is truly a choose your own level of adventure protest event. We all know that Portland is a peaceful, lovely city just steps away from the federally run facility that is causing such turmoil and trouble in our community.
