NEW SKATES!! Thanks to my friend @littleval.73 the incredible owner of @xanadusb for holding my hand through the entire process of ordering Riedell 336s with color lab. Val gave me the best advice and kept me updated as the boots were being built then shipped to her adorable skate boutique in Santa Barbara, CA. I ordered my Roll Line Dance plate through @rollerskateusa which I found randomly online while researching plates. They had the best price and the option to switch out the trucks for 8mm axles so I don’t have to get all new bearings. I was impressed that they actually called me to verify my order! I had the plates shipped to Xanadu and Val had them mounted perfectly! I chose to order from Val because I have been a fan of Xanadu since the beginning. I visited Santa Barbara shorty before Xanadu opened and was so excited to learn they were getting a skate shop. I followed along online, chatted with Val in DMs, and last summer I got to visit in person with my bestie @pinkzaid . Val made us feel so welcome and sat and talked with us like we were old friends. Val has fought hard to keep her store open, fulfill her dream, and serve the skate community. When I knew it was time to upgrade my skates, I wanted to support Val and I knew she would take good care of me. I was so right and I’m so happy with my new setup! Just one day after my skates arrived, I took them up to Shodown in Seatown and skated amongst the greats! Taking @rocs_world ’s workshop in brand new skates was no joke! But totally worth it and I definitely felt the difference in my pivots and spins. Can’t wait to break them in!

Tuesday nights at Oaks is so fun because there’s always something fun to learn and jump into! I love learning from other skaters and trying new things! Our routines can be challenging to learn on the spot at the Rink, though it’s for sure a great place to practice! Awesome job to @g8or8or @funinskates @awadyka34 and @benhpyang

Learning Choreo on Rollerskates is really fun! It also can push us to level up our skills and use our brains in ways we might not be used to. There are some skaters that naturally gravitate to choreo and there are some that prefer to free flow. My mentor, Morgan, the creator of @dance.skate has shown me how learning choreo also helps improve free flow for so many reasons. ✨ skill development (learning new moves in the choreo) ✨ learning to move quicker and more precisely ✨ practicing new movement pathways to add to free flow (increasing movement vocabularly) In short, choreo can really support and help develop a skaters free flow! Plus - who doesn’t want to match and do a synchronized routine with a bunch of your friends?!? Thank you to everyone who came out you totally rocked this challenging piece!! 🎥: @funshineskates
