Yarranabbe - A compact apartment conversion, where we salvaged what we could by hand, exploring the afterlife of construction materials. One of our first built projects became a study in layers: learning what can be reused, what can’t, and what it takes to give things a second life. We found that appliances are easy to sell, but pieces of 90s kitchens aren’t. It’s best to sell a kitchen intact direct from site rather than in pieces. That regupol is heavy and expensive to dispose, but surprisingly simple to reuse if you’ve got the space for it. A project that taught us as much about process as it did about material.
