We are very proud to be the winners of  the Australian Institute of Architects President’s Prize (also called the Builder of the Year award) at the National Architecture Awards for our work on the ‘Love Shack’ project, designed by Second Edition Architects. The jury recognized Robert Plumb Build for its commitment to ‘material stewardship’ particularly the use of salvaged materials and its innovative, waste-conscious approach to construction. The Jury citation states: The award citation specifically praised Robert Plumb Build for their collaborative approach, professional courage, innovative leadership, and commitment to craftsmanship and quality, which resulted in a waste-conscious and beautiful outcome. We are grateful to the jury for acknowledging our efforts and thank @secondeditionau and clients Will and Julia Dangar for backing the project so completely.  @dangarbarinsmith @jooiedArchitecture @secondeditionStyling @designdailyCustom joinery @cranbrook.workshopLandscape @dangarbarinsmithPhotographer @hamishmcintosh

Yarranabbe - A compact apartment conversion, where we salvaged what we could by hand, exploring the afterlife of construction materials.One of our first built projects became a study in layers: learning what can be reused, what can’t, and what it takes to give things a second life. We found that appliances are easy to sell, but pieces of 90s kitchens aren’t. It’s best to sell a kitchen intact direct from site rather than in pieces.
