This bench began as a rough idea sketched full-scale on the workshop bench.
From there the steel is bent by hand from mild steel round bar, shaping each curve slowly until the form settles. The backrest resolves into two faces, whispering, or perhaps kissing. A playful nod to Picasso and John Risley.
A garden bench for spilling the tea, sharing secrets, and blowing kisses.
It’s a contemporary take on traditional wrought iron work.

Wanderer Light.
So thrilled to be presenting @melbourneartfair with @oigall_projects at @futureobjekt
This piece has been wandering through my thoughts for some time.
Over 1,000 components.
Jewellery enamelling short course.
Butterfly wings under a microscope.
Mexico City’s enameled tables.
Mayan artefacts.
An internal skeleton layered in shingles, building a luminous skin from the inside out. Armour and fragility in one form.
This is the first expression of an idea that is already unfolding into more. A build that taught me a lot and opened new directions.
I want to make pieces that quietly transform a space, living in harmony with the home while holding their own presence.

One of my fave vases yet 🤍
A fun day last May with @sir_botanical and @lulucavanagh , in the lead-up to the NGV Rigg Prize.
I brought the vase, Lulu brought the vision, and Kate created the most beautiful arrangement to meet the vessel. A test piece, but a special one.

Dylan shot these on film, then hand-developed and printed them himself in his studio. I love how he sees light, soft, intentional, patient. You can feel the quiet in his work. There’s something special about the way film holds moments and the care he puts into every part of the process makes that moment even more lasting.
This is one of my favourite pictures of the chair — shot by @dylan.le_mon
If you swipe to the last image you’ll see my final proposal to the Rigg Design Prize 🫣. Thank you to @simoneleamon and the @ngvmelbourne curation team for believing in the process and letting the idea grow.
The renders don’t look like much, all the magic happens off screen. I use CAD to get the sheet metal laser cut, but that’s where the digital part ends. Everything else is done by hand.
From final approval we had 6 months to build our pieces. I wanted to bring something new and something special. I started in MDF, made the first inflated prototype, didn’t like the proportions, so I made it again. And found the flavour.
Big big love to @remingtonmatters for letting me use their space to build this out of. Couldn’t have done it without you. 💪🫶

I had some fun with the custom duck shipping labels. Three boxes, three objects, all carefully packed and about to begin their new chapter.

Mbosho Coffee Table, 2024
I loaded the pieces into the van and drove down to @dylan.le_mon studio in Yallingup. He shot everything on black-and-white film, then hand-developed and printed it himself. I love how he plays with light, bouncing it, bending it, until the objects almost breathe on their own.
