Trans history cannot achieve the coherence expected by dominant historical narratives. Instead, its meaning lies in tracing how trans bodies have been compelled to bear the weight of social order and how, at times, they have resisted. The field offers a methodology, a means of examining how bodies are rendered legible, how archives distort, and how norms are imposed upon flesh.   Trans history cannot be confined to academic discourse. The processes of learning and living are inseparable.

Intrecciando studi teorici alle proprie esperienze personali, politiche e affettive, Sandra Cane scrive un manifesto filosofico e poetico, in cui individua le crepe nel sistema e fa leva per allargarle, proponendo una visione del futuro per tutt* che scardini le coordinate capitalistiche e patriarcali, e diventi un luogo in cui vivere nelle potenzialità del divenire. «Questo libro non è un memoir della mia transizione. Non è un saggio su cosa sia il gender e perché fa tanta paura. Non è una storia esemplare. I stand in solidarity with the signatories of ANGA’s demands and support their call to exclude Israel from the Venice Biennale. The widening war we are witnessing did not appear overnight. It grows from years of normalizing Israel’s genocide in Gaza and its 78 year occupation of Palestine, allowing institutions to treat it as an exception. Culture must not provide cover for genocide and the brutal imperial aggression being unleashed on Iran and Lebanon. No genocide pavilion. No artwashing in our name. Her work reflects on the material connections between body and writing and on queer, anti-normative, and decolonial cultural practices. She writes for magazines and digital platforms such as Arabpop, Flash Art, Kohl: a Journal for Body and Gender Research, Il Tascabile, and Lucy. On culture, Not – NERO on Theory, Palestine Square, and has written texts for Collana Altera and Tamu Edizioni. She has published Grammatica della frammentazione (Grammar of Fragmentation) in Einaudi's Quanti series (2023) and Trans. Una poetica del paradosso (Trans. A Poetics of Paradox) for Nero Editions' NOT series (2025). She collaborates on performance projects, publications, and talks with collectives, independent spaces, and institutions. She is part of Bagnomaria, a trans collective space in Milan. In collaboration with @au___ro for this project, photographer and communication designer. Born in Monza in 1997, Auro completed a bachelor's degree in communication design (Politecnico di Milano, 2017-2020) and is currently attending a two-year course in photography (CFP Bauer, 2020-2022). Since 2023, he has been a member of Camera Club Milano. In July 2024, he participated in the Tagli artist residency in Stromboli. He lives and works in Milan.
