‘Our pain thinks about metaphors’ is a creative workshop series for people with chronic pain. Together, we will chat, create, and speculate - imagining the potential of metaphor in our thinking about pain. The sessions will be running from the end of July to the start of September (exact dates tbc). Follow the link in my bio to sign up, or for more information. This series is open to anyone with chronic pain, in the UK and abroad. “Can my pain do something else, take me somewhere else? What would it mean for it to be a rainforest rather than a gunshot? For it to be like roots pushing through mud, rather than like burning in a house fire? Or for it to be some attempt to comfort, rather than to punish?” “Metaphor is a technology that shapes pain, as well as one that can be used to measure it. Like all technologies, it can be used for wonderful or terrible things.” This workshop series is part of a project developed within the Unwired Currents fellowship co-hosted by Futuress @futuress_org , Dreaming Beyond AI @dreamingbeyondai  , and Franca López Barbera @frannnca  .
