Outsider Sounds and Visions Fest is a two day music festival in West Oakland March 27 and 28, 2026 celebrating the twenty year anniversary of @ratskinrecords happening at First Church Of The Buzzard in West Oakland featuring over thirty five bands / performances. We couldn’t be more excited to invite @s__hellsgate as part of OSAV fest, as people and artists they pump energy and necessary sound into our community through their boutique record store / art gallery @coneshapetop their @lowergrandradio collaborations/ mixes and through countless inspiring releases and large and small scale community oriented projects! They are not to be missed and I verified this through their set at @tac_oakland last Thursday - enthralling hypnotic saences with elements of dub, industrial and ethereal ambient.

S’hells Gate exists between heaven and hell, the ashes rising from the fire, both destruction and transcendence. A three-piece outfit comprising members Jonathan Carr, Matt Brownell and Cat Lauigan, S’hells Gate fuses elements of varied style electronics, experimental poetry / processed trance vocals, oscillating hypnotic drones with industrial dub rhythms.

ᝰ๋࣭ 𝚂𝚄𝙽𝙳𝙰𝚈, 𝙾𝙲𝚃𝙾𝙱𝙴𝚁 ❶❷ ⏏︎ Tomorrow we welcome 𝙼𝙰𝚁𝙸𝙰 𝙲𝙷𝙰𝚅𝙴𝚉, supported by 𝚂’𝙷𝙴𝙻𝙻𝚂 𝙶𝙰𝚃𝙴 & 𝙸𝚅𝙰𝙽 𝚉𝙾𝙻𝙾𝚃𝙾 on the ④🅢🅣🅐🅡 stage ⎋ Born in Lima, Peru and based in NYC, 𝙼𝙰𝚁𝙸𝙰 𝙲𝙷𝙰𝚅𝙴𝚉 is best known as an abstract turntablist, sound artist and DJ. Coincidence, chance and failures are themes that unite her work across mediums, including improvised performance, sound and marble sculpture, visual art, and book objects. Her approach is rooted in 𝙳𝙴𝙴𝙿 𝙻𝙸𝚂𝚃𝙴𝙽𝙸𝙽𝙶, a form of embodied listening developed by her late mentor Pauline Oliveros ⏏︎ 𝙼𝙰𝚁𝙸𝙰 is the only abstract turntablist in the world who performs with a rare needle known as the RAKE Double Needle. This special device contains two needles on one head, allowing it to read two different segments of a single record at the same time.
