MANDALORIAN + GROGU //// Photographed by Robert Ascroft////////////I have photographed most of Hollywood over the years but I have to say this one was extra special. THE HOUSEMAID //// Photographed by Robert Ascroft////////////@sydney_sweeney + @mingey + @brandonsklenar for the key art campaign photographed over 3 days in the pool house behind the home used for the film. We setup a mini studio and as the cast were available they would come down in the snow to the small pool house to shoot with me. We had 5 lighting scenarios setup on one background. This shoot felt different than most key art assignments I shoot because of the close quarters. We listened to some great music and had a blast making these images for the blockbuster hit. My photo team and the creatives from Lionsgate made this shoot a major success. DAVID ARCHULETA //// Photographed by Robert Ascroft////////////David Archuleta’s new book Devout is a very personal story. Weeks before the shoot, David and I had a Zoom call to talk through the photographs I would be make with him. It was clear early on that the image needed to be simple and direct. It was also clear he wanted to meet me and see if I was the right fit for the project. We both knew within a few minutes it was a great match of personality and devotion to the art of simplicity. I have to thank manager extraordinaire @rebeccawarfieldla for connecting the two of us.It’s rare to make something this restrained, where the smallest details carry the weight. Each image had something special but this one just caught our attention. It was the one.I’m grateful David trusted me to capture such an important moment.
