I recently had the opportunity to collaborate with @soundwaves_art on a limited-edition collection of artwork created from the sound waves of 1 song each from Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Batman, and The Simpsons. All profits will be donated to the incredible @cityofhope , one of the largest and most advanced cancer research and treatment organizations in the United States, and @nationalwildlifefoundation , who champion wildlife conservation for a brighter future. Legendary conductor Michael Tilson Thomas died yesterday. I feel so fortunate to work and spend time with him in 2022 when he conducted my cello concerto. He was a gracious host. The stories he shared from his amazing life were priceless. RIP Michael.
