Highlighting one of the eighteen Exceptional Graduates from last month’s academic awards. Darian Goghamin from @hhs.ren in @alvordunified will be graduating with a 4.83 GPA this year. He aspires to follow his brother’s footsteps and attend UC Santa Barbara and obtain his PhD in theoretical machine learning. He has a passion for math and computer science which has been strengthened through his shadow work with a professor at UCR. It was a typical day between 6th and 7th period on the campus of Corona High School, as students were filling into Room C-3, the Health Careers Pathway classroom of Jim Winn.
Suddenly, a student burst in through the door, asking for help because a staff member had fallen outside and was hurt.
Mr. Winn was on the office phone speaking with another teacher and didn’t immediately hear the urgent request.

We know that student success is more than just academics. With a shared commitment to supporting the well-being of the students and communities we serve, this conference reminded attendees that student Wellness is a collective priority. The work of showing our students that we care does not belong to one person or one department; it belongs to all of us.
Young people thrive when they feel valued, supported, and when they feel connected. This conference provided an opportunity for attendees to learn from one another, reflect on practices that strengthen school communities, and continue building environments where students feel a sense of belonging.

Today, I was honored to attend the annual Transition Partnership Program (TPP) Student Achievement Awards. In collaboration with @dorcalifornia , this essential work-based learning, job training, and #FinancialLiteracyRivCo skills course helps prepare students with disabilities as they transition from high school to meaningful employment and the next steps on their journey.
This successful program would not be possible without the dedicated teachers and counselors, as well as our over 40 distinguished business/organization partners; many of whom joined us and were also recognized at this ceremony.
Special Recognition of Achievement Awards were presented to TPP graduates Jesus Steven Gonzalez Cervantes, DeCarlos Hamler & Connor Spearman.
