FSCA and The FEAST hosted a staff appreciation luncheon for the school wide staff at the California School for the Deaf, Riverside. It was awesome to also have Innocaption and Honeydew join us for their appreciation giveaway at the same time to help celebrate the staff!
Thank you to all the volunteers, parents, FEAST, and FSCA for helping make this happen. We appreciate all of you, CSDR staff! ❤️

ASL is our language and we’re awestruck by the continued growth of ASL in media, especially seeing platforms like Disney+ expand storytelling in animation through ASL.
Representation is important and powerful for our students to see our language and different cultures brought to life in new ways.
It was an honor to welcome Leilani, one of the ASL signers involved in this work, specifically Moana, to speak with our Student Life program. She shared about her experience on the project, as well as her heritage as a Native Hawaiian, bringing both culture and identity into the conversation in such a meaningful way. Thank you @iamleilaniii for sharing your time with our cubs!
Moments like this remind us how important it is for our students to see themselves reflected in the world around them. Thank you @deafwest and @disneyanimation for making our cubs feel like the world is theirs too!
It’s more than a job.
It’s the people, the purpose, and the pride we share.
At CSDR, we’re looking for professionals who are passionate about students, value connection and community.
Whether your strengths are in leadership, teaching, student support, or communication, there’s a place here for those who are ready to make an inspire.
Visit the link in our bio for more information, and share this with someone who would be a great fit for our Cub community.

🌸 AAPI Heritage Month – Riverside Edition (part two-CSDR Spotlight) 🌸
At the California School for the Deaf, Riverside, AAPI history lives through powerful firsts and lasting impact—from the first AAPI educator and graduate to a retired teacher who helped document the Deaf President Now movement through his lens. AAPI Deaf Olympians have carried that pride onto the world stage, while the momiji tree stands as a quiet symbol of resilience and heritage.
These stories reflect the strength, visibility, and legacy of AAPI voices within the CSDR community.
