Under the 377 years old wooden attic of Kasteel Hof d’Intere, time softened for a while.. Around one long table, we shared breakfast, stories, drawings, silence, laughter, and the quiet beauty of being together and feeling good. Part of our collective exhibition Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe, this day unfolded like a living artwork of Manet — with inspiring Artist talk from Bruno Devos and Chris Meulemans around The Collective Drawing by Nicky Embrechts, and later, the hauntingly beautiful performance sounds of Inne Eysermans drifting through the castle beams. We are so happy with another beautiful opening and exhibition at our beautiful castle. Le déjeuner sur l’herbe brings together amazing artists and galleries from around the world centered around the iconic eponymous painting of Manet, depicting an everyday scene at historic scale, causing scandal and new movement simultaneously. Nestled in the countryside, Kasteel Hof d’Intere forms temporary refuge from the city. Many thanks to all amazing artists, galleries and volontairs thanks to curator Bruno Devos for bringing this exhibition together. We are open on Saturday and Sunday from 13:00 - 18:00, as well as during this Ascension weekend. On Sunday 17 of May we bring a special programme. More info in bio.
