woweee, I’m feeling so lucky to be featured in the first issue of @ramsgaterising @ramsgaterecorder 🌟🗞️ Growing up, I seem to remember having an underlying feeling that, if I wanted to “achieve anything” I had to leave, even if no one said that explicitly. Bring your friends and loved ones to an amazing event and show your support to our amazing new youth led magazine, as well as meet the talented people who have made all this possible. Have a drink at the bar, from soft drinks to wines & beers, tuck into some bar snacks or even a tasty charcuterie board! Listen to some amazing tunes from our exclusive playlist and a potential special performance from one of our interviewed musicians we wrote about in our first issue. What a Fantastic day it was yesterday presenting our new youth magazine for Ramsgate! At the launch day at St George’s Church, we passed out over 400 copies of our new magazine with so many amazing people and organisations already signing up to collaborate and work with us! At this special, eye opening event we had special guest speaker @pollybillington , our Labour MP for east thanet, leading us into the presentations. She gave a passionate and supportive speech about how we will strive to look after our town and the people in it. She even proudly held up our magazine in support of all we had accomplished! This truly amazing achievement for our young people at the magazine has been made possible through the Ramsgate Pride in Place ‘Bring it to Life’ grant , funded by government and the Ramsgate Neighbourhood Board. Here is it! Our first ever issue of 𝗥𝗮𝗺𝘀𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴, the new youth magazine for the town and our surrounding areas. Our special feature is Sam Battle, AKA @lookmumnocomputer , who is taking the UK to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2026, and who tells us all about his renowned success in the music industry. We also speak to some of ramsgate’s rising stars, Lucy Taylor, Caitlin Neaves, Blackhouse Hill and Charlotte Webb. Three local artists who tell us all about their experiences in the creative arts world. We visit @piefactorymusic to find out about some of their success stories and speak about important topics such as the housing and climate crisis! Whats more, we explore our town guide, a helpful advice column talking about exciting opportunities for young people! We’re so excited to bring you stories chosen and written by Ramsgate’s young writers and storytellers, and can’t wait to share with you our extraordinary vision of our town. Breaking news...Ramsgate Rising is coming! A new magazine created for and by young people hits the town this Sunday. The magazine is launching as part of Ramsgate Pride in Place, a £20 million fund for Ramsgate, which launches at St George’s Church on Sunday 19 April after the St George’s Day Parade (which gathers at the Church from midday). It has been a busy month for this brand new team of 18-25 year olds writing, photographing, designing and marketing their debut issue. And this is just the beginning! So make sure you give @ramsgaterising a follow, and Come and support, pick up a copy, and find out more about Ramsgate Pride in Place including other projects selected for its launch. We’ll be there until 3.30pm. We can’t wait to see you!
