Thank you to Rebekah Smith for these stunning photos of the new installation by @standing.with.giants situated around our Royal Harbour. The installation features 338 life-sized silhouettes which each represent one figure for every thousand troops rescued during Operation Dynamo. These figures include and RNLI lifeboatman, civilian skipper, and Royal Navy officer, as well as a Women’s Voluntary Service lady and three evacuee children symbolising the thousands of children relocated from Ramsgate during WWII. The installation will be in place until 28th June. Standing With Giants create large-scale remembrance art installations to honour the fallen. Find out more at

Step through the Looking Glass with @loopingtheloop_ as they bring a sense of delightful nonsense to Ramsgate Town Centre! Professional theatre company Looping the Loop is bringing bursts of creative joy to our High Streets this Saturday 9th May between 11am - 2pm, bringing the magic of Alice in Wonderland to our town centre. People of every age are invited to this free immersive experience, inspired by the whimsical world of Lewis Carroll. Theatre Director Ellie Jones says: “Whether you’re a curious traveller or a seasoned resident of Wonderland, there is a seat at the table for you. And it’s all free of charge. This is a living, breathing celebration of the absurd, open to explorers of all ages. The tea is brewing, and the March Hare is getting restless!” The event is packed with activities designed to spark the imagination and draw visitors into the imaginative, wonderful world of this well-known story. ✨Comedy continues at @ramsgatearts.club this spring ✨ On Thursday 7th May, VAULTS COMEDY brings three top acts who will join host Sharon Wanjohi in the much-loved cellar bar. Headliner @funmbi_omotayo Omotayo has won Best Newcomer at the Black Comedy Awards, a Leicester Square New Act of the Year award and an Amused Moose Comedy award. Time Out has described him as “A charming young comic, he’s got the jokes to back up his charm soon he could be playing to thousands“ Funmbi is joined by Erika Ehler and Josh Elton. Erika is a Chortle Student Comedy Award winner, and has written for Have I Got News for You, Roast Battle, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and Netflix. And Josh, who won the title of Welsh Unsigned Stand-Up of the Year award in 2017, has performed right across the UK including the Edinburgh Fringe, Radnor, Neath and Leicester Comedy festivals as well as at top comedy clubs including Stone Circle and The Glee Club. Doors open from 5pm when you can enjoy drinks and pre-show food from their new small plates menu, followed by a night of cracking comedy. The show starts at 7.20pm.
