A few of my favorite moments from my live A/V piece with pedal steel guitarist @bobhoffnar for the Quad Quad event at @dadalab.io during the 2026 @fuseboxlive Festival
Curated by @grahamreynoldsmusic the event featured four electronic artists, each building a quadraphonic set with pedal steel.
It was a pleasure to work with Bob over several weeks while I designed a quad setup in Ableton (using some @c74connect devices) to process the pedal steel and pair it with audio-reactive visuals in @touchdesigner
This is a binaural mixdown of the original 4-channel piece, so listen on headphones for best results.
Full length 16:9 video is on my YouTube page, linked in my bio
Big thanks to Bob for diving into the experiment and to Fusebox for supporting work like this

NMC Presents NEW MUS XII: BRIAN WENNER | PULSECODER | JAMES TALAMBAS | VISUALS BY ASH
BRIAN WENNER
Brooklyn-based experimental electronic musician creating dense, frenetic sound collage works. Bandcamp calls his music “sizzling experimental electronic, alternatively dissonant and tuneful.” Working with Internet-ripped audio, field recordings, and personal samples, he combines Musique Concrète with modern digital processes through hardware samplers and software manipulation. Recent album QUADRANT (March 2025, Old Technology) documents a quadraphonic live performance in Austin. Co-curates monthly series Artifact. Featured in The New York Times, VICE, FACT, and The FADER. Performed at Art Basel Miami, CURRENTS, and across North America.
PULSECODER
Kyle Evans’ electronic music project crossing deep modular synthesis with chaotic digital glitch. Drawing from IDM, house, power electronics, and glitch, pulseCoder navigates the precarious territory between music and noise—a controlled collapse into chaos. Releases on Holodeck Records and Shadowtrash Tape Group. Evans is an internationally recognized artist who has performed at MUTEK San Francisco, Transmediale Berlin, GLI.TC/H, Currents, Blanton Museum, Dimanche Rouge Paris, and Vancouver New Music Festival.
JAMES TALAMBAS
Multi-disciplinary new media artist, composer, and Founder/Executive Director of New Media Contemporary. Creates site-specific, multi-sensory sculptures and performances through technology, collaboration, and visceral improvisation.
ASH
Generative and analogue artist creating visuals in TouchDesigner, manipulated through analogue gear and techniques. Curates immersive sensory experiences for dance floors and art spaces, pushing and blurring boundaries between digital and analogue mediums to create dynamic, transformative environments.
Funded in part by City of Dallas Arts and Culture.

Join us for an evening of genre-defying sound and vision as dadageek brings together classical strings, experimental electronics, and immersive digital art.
The acclaimed chamber ensemble @austin_camerata opens the night with a dynamic set that spans Ravel to Daft Punk, accompanied by real-time generative visuals from @panoptikon.party@hexpartner brings a live audio-visual performance that blends medieval mysticism with experimental electronics, drawing from her background in classical music and dungeon synth composition.
The night culminates in a collaborative performance by @pulsecoder and @brandon_stargrave , merging sound synthesis, glitch aesthetics, and generative visuals into a tightly woven audiovisual experience.
This event is a celebration of cross-disciplinary creativity—where classical meets electronic, and music becomes a canvas for light, code, and motion.

Very excited to share a teaser of my newest AV performance piece - bitwhisper.exe
bitwhisper.exe is a live audio-visual performance that blends abstraction and rhythm, navigating the fragile terrain between structure and collapse. Visuals flicker like corrupted memory, responding in real time to whispered frequencies and fractured beats. The performance examines AV alignment as a dynamic system that invites both immersion and disorientation. It is a meditation on digital instability, and the human instinct to find meaning in abstract sound and image.
Both A and V were developed by me.
Visuals were designed in @touchdesigner
Quadraphonic audio in @ableton
and using custom @c74connect Max for Live devices to talk between the two
Video was shot at @dadalab.io in Austin, TX
Thanks to my good friend @vvilmstock for shooting the video 🙏
I will be performing this work next at @denvermov for an event on July 26. The first time I’ll be performing this work outside of Austin. More info coming soon!
