Sub 3: The Starting Line for Tokyo Weekender BRICK by TOKYO started as three friends with a shared passion for fitness and community. Last year, we connected with Xavi Portillo and had the privilege of documenting what happened when co-founder Ralph and Xavi’s NYC-based run club Sombra Civilization met in Tokyo to train together ahead of the 2025 Marathon. Two groups, different languages, different cultures, united by the same belief that fitness builds community. Documenting this journey was one of our favorite projects of 2025. Now with the 2026 Tokyo Marathon on Sunday and both Brick and Sombra returning, we can’t wait to see what’s next for them 🏃 Thank you everyone who supported us on this passion project! The film for Adidas China’s Future of Style. Bianco Bianco brought us on earlier this year, and together with talented director Anisha Kapoor we shaped something we’re really truly proud of. A female-led team, an industrial warehouse full of character, and a crew that braved the cold to make it happen.
