i am so excited to finally share behind the scenes of our film Without A Sound. what a beautiful journey it was. this was the first time i got to act in a film since 2018, and i what a lucky girl i am to break out of the hiatus with such a beautiful and talented team. the set was overflowing with drive, passion and desire to create. thank you to each one of you for a heavy dose of inspiration that still resides in my body. thank you for restoring my confidence and desire to make art. last fall russia began to attack Ukraine’s power supplies and critical infrastructure causing widespread blackouts. thousands of towns and villages were affected leaving people without cellular service, electricity and water all during the rapidly declining temperature - the winter was right around the corner. me experiencing it firsthand just before leaving for Japan inspired us to try and encapsulate what millions of Ukrainians who were forced out of their homes were going through. these attacks have once again proven that russia brings only death and destruction but it has also, once again, showed the world the Ukrainian bravery, strength and determination. we stay strong and we keep on fighting. even during the times where it feels impossible. directing/editing/color: @shunshunfilm dop: @kohei_shimaz music: @__ju_ni__
