6 YEARS IN! And we’ve only just begun.
Getting laid off in my early 30s felt like the end, but six years ago that moment pushed me to start Oak St… turns out it was just the beginning.
Sometimes the thing that feels like it’s breaking you is actually making room for something bigger and better. 🤍🤍🤍

Almost one whole year of this perfect little cherub lighting up our lives. Wowee what a ride it’s been. Whiplash included lol. Feels like we might finally be finding some sort of groove?! (But if I’ve learned anything from becoming a parent, who knows that could change next week 🤣) So in love with my guys 🥹😍

This song always makes me tear up. Auld Lang Syne is about remembering old times, honoring what’s been, and carrying it with you as you move forward.
We didn’t get a proper ring-in to the new year (thanks to a vicious GI bug that slowly took down the whole family) and it left me feeling a little ungrounded, but maybe that’s part of it… pausing long enough to actually reflect and process what a wild year it’s been… and choosing reflection over rushing into what’s next.
Here’s to stepping into the new year with a little more clarity, a little more softness, and some new found vim & vigor for what’s to come 🤍
Annual bike ride to our favorite festival tradition 🚲✨ 5 (?!) years strong with @theohanafest & @dankwinters . This one felt a little different. Postpartum emotions were high, and leaving the baby is not getting any easier 🥹. Luckily he was spoiled with the best aunties while Mom & Dad got a little reset. Leon Bridges had me in tears and the ocean air reminded me how lucky we are to live here 🤍
The baby handoff! Captured perfectly by @the_best_of_v . A common occurrence these days so the other half of our two-person team can enjoy a few uninterrupted minutes of ocean bliss. ✨🌊 We often joke before heading into a potentially challenging moment with the baby that it’s “us against Asher, not us against each other.” 🤣 We laugh, but honestly, I think it works. Other times, we’re fighting over who gets to bathe him or put him to bed. I know it won’t always be like this, but it makes me so grateful for my other half and the constant reminder that we’re in this together.
