We’ve been busy! Today sees the opening of
@ratto.bistrobar , a new spot in Stuttgart, and we couldn’t be happier to work with friends and colleagues to build a space to share food, wine, good tunes and great company. With a full cellar and a steady stream of wines from across Europe, it’s set to be an exciting year ahead.
In this December edition, Moritz Kissinger is back with his latest release of Null Ohm Weiss and some big news from Rheinhessen. This wine has held a rapt audience since its very first vintage; a fresh, Chardonnay and Weißburgunder blend, with an energy as captivating as Moritz’s own.
Closer to home in Württemberg, Roterfaden have created a rosé for all seasons. For the past decade, Olympia and Hannes have championed Lemberger, and their Rosafaden is another great expression of this variety. Direct pressed and aged in wood, it has both character and depth, and carries the distinctive minerality of Roterfaden’s blue limestone soils.
And from just east of Stuttgart in Schnait, we’re very happy to introduce a new winemaker. After years of experience as a sommelier in San Francisco and Berlin, Nicholas Pratt worked at
@weingut_odinstal and
@weingut.beurer before producing his own wines. Cuvée Lynn is from his inaugural, 2023 vintage, a blend of Helios and Silvaner with flinty minerality and a savoury herbal finish. Nick is cultivating small plots on the sweeping slopes of the Rems valley, with an array of varieties that promise an exciting future.
