“The Last Link Up” is our collaborative project exploring the subculture of breeding and showing American XL Bulldogs in the UK. These stills, made in Derby are part of a wider product shot across the midlands. They capture what was known to the community as a “Link Up”, and will now be known as the last of its kind since the ban of the breed in December 2023.
It is an ongoing project that will exist together as a short-documentary film and this photographic body of work. This was the first thing we ever shot, we started filming in 2022 and in that time the story of the Bullies has evolved…
