🚁 Why does our crew give thumbs up before every mission? Before approaching the helicopter, the doctor and paramedic will wait for the pilot to signal that the aircraft is safe to approach. It’s a crucial part of the crew’s safety checks.
❌ Approaching at the wrong time is one of the biggest hazards as the rotors of the helicopter can change height depending on their speed or a change in power.
⏱️ As we’re usually airborne in minutes, the pilots will often go on ahead to start the helicopter and do their checks. This simple but effective gesture keeps the whole crew safe, meaning they can be on scene and saving lives in record time.

He arrived wearing this message around his neck… 👀
