10.2025 | Fall 🍁 highlights from my favorite season. got to meet auteur Heiny Srour (Leila and the Wolves), screen @atowncalledvictoria in DC, celebrate wonderful friends, see the real faces behind @heavyweightpodcast , and breathe in the autumn air. tried painting again, and honestly, pretty pleased it wasn’t total shit 🍂 and damn, what a World Series 💙

What a night. Houston, thank you for packing the house at Aurora Picture Show for our special evening with Heiny Srour’s LEILA AND THE WOLVES and our incredible artists. Here are some moments from our event, beautifully lensed by @artbyfarahmithani . Immense gratitude to @jacksonallers of @icehouseradio , @zaytounat.htx , and Nour Alia @maryamaasif from @falasteenartsfestival @actorsacrossborders for the unforgettable performances that made our atmosphere alive with music and deep feeling. Huge thank you to our co-curator @camilleashraf and co-presenter @aurorapictureshow , for without whom this event would not be possible. We so enjoyed our talkback, which gave us a space to process the complex feelings of discomfort, mourning, and inspiration that the film brought up. For future events, we’d love to create more room for this kind of dialogue. We hope all who came left with a deeper sense of community and togetherness with each other. Gathering in times like this is important, and we were honored to provide the space to do so with this program. 9.2025 | Birthday Chicago - LA - Houston 🌿 what a september to remember! took a deep breath and rode the whirlwind for this unforgettable birthday month. in Chicago, I was so happy to represent @htxmade_films at the @colorcongress convening and meet other badass film orgs in TX fighting the good fight. what a great city. last time I was here was ’11. caught a white sox game and went to quimby’s! then, to LA. how sweet to see Mike n Jack, part of the very first USC film I crewed on in ’06! saw my queen @neon.baobei as well. very grateful to come back as a delegate for the DGA national convention - this time as an east coast member. so nice to see the gang. if you’re gonna conclave, do it with these ladies :) and finally, Houston. got to see @chapedmonson show at @sanmanstudios and feel the ever rising creative energy here. our latest @htxmade_films was nothing but joy. we had another sold out event, this time screening one of my favorite films, LEILA AND THE WOLVES at @aurorapictureshow , an org I’ve been a fan of since high school. and speaking of high school, us AHS bulldogs had our 20th year high school reunion! we all look pretty good!! 💫 glad for another trip around the sun. hope the next one brings new roads and invites us down old ones too.
