Woah 2025, what I ride you were. Overall, it was about the alpes, I guess?
Summing up thankful and excited for what’s to come
1 Starting the year with this beautiful gift by Arash Shahali, on point as always
2 Looking for god and eventually finding it
3 Foggy misty meetings in the middle of nowhere, realizing that wrong paths can actually lead somewhere
4 realizing (again) how much joy hiking and the mountains spark
5 catching up with @devilintraining_@kunsthausbregenz
6 Moving to Bregenz thanks to dearest @dimonastoeckle
8 forever sun downs at Lake Bodensee
9 Madly in love with mirrored sunglasses
10 farewelling my grandfather
11 God, again
12 @adamrj__ performing the endless exhaustion of life as well as its beauty during @quovadis_festival , breaking my heart while also healing it
13 picking up apples in Opas honor, as we did numerous times before
14 started to go ice bathing, which helped me a lot to feel my body again after this loss
15 Always thinking about @raftrade 💘
I would be nowhere without you. Taken during most adored @mal_saal ’s exhibition “far feelings” curated by yours truly.
Off we go!
Pretty much a year ago, I was at the lowest of my lows. Lately, I often think about this German Feuilleton magazine that has an interview rubick which asks: What saved your life? For me, Bregenz saved my life.
In September 2024, I was so exhausted, fed up, and done with myself that I decided to capitulate. And capitulation is such a relief. I realized that there was nothing to archive anymore in this state of being and made the decision to go to a psychosomatic clinic and actually—for the first time in my life—put me first instead of continuing this battle of exhaustion and tiredness.
What came afterwards was nothing less than a blessing. Transition times are always so very demanding, but getting back into a position of agency and realizing that things can actually change—including yourself—is nothing short of life-changing. If you feel stuck, please capitulate. It will get so much better afterwards, I promise.
Thank you to all the beautiful flowers, old ones and new, who supported me through these times and further. I am everyday grateful to have you by my side.

𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗻: 𝙛𝙖𝙧 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨
11.–18.1.2025, Opening: 10 January from 4 pm
We are excited to invite you to the opening of 𝙛𝙖𝙧 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 on Friday, 10 January 2025 at Wilhelmshöher Allee 121, Kassel. In 𝙛𝙖𝙧 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨, Malene evaluates everyday life while oscillating between the desire to forget and the desire to preserve. Her drawings, paintings and objects are both precise and funny observations of a time of failure, melancholy, and the need to finally grow up.
On the occasion of the opening, Arash Shahali and Raffael Streicher will host a bingo, followed by a back to back set by DJ Froggy and DJ Ron Sommer. Throughout the week, a collective drawing session with the Zeicheninstitut and an artist talk with Malene Saalmann and Robin Vehrs will take place. We’d love to see you!
The exhibition was curated by Leonore Schubert. Thank you for the support: Arash Shahali, Raffael Streicher, Samu Goldburn, David von der Stein, Ricky Weber & the Zeicheninstitut, Robin Vehrs, Carolin Psyalski, Stefan Kemna, Tanja Jürgensen, Nico Wefers, Jonas Bornhorst, and Dennis Lange.
