Hey mama lovers….Karni Eye mama project taking over, first is
@kristinavaraksina on the topic of ivf , in her own words :
“Dream Children”
“Infertility is crippling. You feel like less of a woman, less of a family. When you try to talk about it with your close friends and family who haven’t experienced it, they don’t understand. You feel alone—completely deserted. And worst of all, you live in limbo, because you don’t know what to plan for your future. The future you’ve always imagined is now overshadowed by repeated attempts and difficult decisions: another round, a donor, adoption, or letting go of the idea of becoming a parent altogether.
Today, 1 in 6 couples experience infertility. Male factors account for about half of all cases. For many, it takes multiple IVF cycles to achieve a successful pregnancy—sometimes several years of treatment. And yet, despite the uncertainty, many do find their way forward—through treatment, through alternative paths, or by redefining what a family means to them.”
Eye mama
“Otherhood” in motherhood speaks to the ways many mothers are positioned at the margins — shaped by race, migration, class, queerness, disability, or simply by not fitting the narrow image of what a mother is “supposed” to be.
Within the Eye Mama Project, this othering is not erased but reclaimed. The project holds space for these layered identities, allowing mamas to author their own narratives and be seen beyond stereotypes or invisibility . In doing so, it transforms “otherhood” from a place of isolation into one of visibility, power, and connection, where being seen becomes a way of belonging.
