I know, not summer anymore, but I am always late posting and do I love revisiting these warm days as we slide into winter. Seasons repeat, and I’ve learned to enjoy that cycle, the way each season teaches something new.
This was my second session with Sabrina and her family. The first was a winter pregnancy session, slow and introspective. This one, by their lake house near Berlin, felt like the way their lives feel right now: sweet, full of new energy, the promise of beginnings. The summer of life.

« As I continued to explore the multifaceted landscape of motherhood, my curiosity expanded to encompass all its dimensions. What does motherhood look like over time? How does it manifest in the context of caregiving, burnout, and the enduring societal perception of it as a primarily “women’s matter”? »

This work explores the inheritance of displacement through the act of mothering away from one’s place of origin. It reflects on my own visceral experience of raising a child in a country that is not my own, while remaining bound to a language, a landscape, and a cultural memory that exists elsewhere

Before this trip, I wasn’t even a photographer. I was just someone who couldn’t stop looking.
About a month into my first camera. No idea what I was doing, only what I felt. Looking at these now I can see both things at once: everything I didn’t know yet, and everything that was already there.
