Set against the symbolism of the Fire Horse year in the Chinese zodiac, “Born of Fire” acts as a double entendre referencing both the Fire Horse and the local fashion landscape — one shaped by endurance and sustained practice where graduates and pioneers alike are driven by the same passion, sustained by the same fire. The series brings together garments by a new generation of local fashion graduates, presented alongside a local fashion pioneer, Max Tan (@maxtanstudio ), whose practice extends beyond independent design into national cultural production.
