Luth @arronteo.art @zhang3feng Captures behind the scenes of Ceremonial Enactments / ANG @luth_seah has been the brand's muse since 2010. The mix of gender fluidity, confidence, fragility, gentleness & strength, together with Luth's life experiences makes for a very inspiring character. You've probably seen Luth in our campaigns and our catwalks. A MAX.TAN show ritual is to open the show with Luth. This time round, she did not just take the catwalk, but explored movement. Thankful for @showyshoushowy for working so closely on this special moment. Thank you Luth, for always being you, and being so every inspiring. Catch the show on @sifa_sg on demand from now til 10th Jul.

The Hair and Makeup Room @arronteo.art @zhang3feng captures behind the scenes of Ceremonial Enactments / ANG On this day last month, ANG was staged as a part of Ceremonial Enactments. The hair and makeup room is a gathered space of different girls from different walks of lives and experiences. It is the first room where "rituals" of a fashion show starts. Thank you @leongster13 @hairbyleong @shashamsi for the amazing and very inspired hair and makeup.

The Production Room @arronteo.art @zhang3feng Captures behind the scenes of Ceremonial Enactments / ANG The vanity table doubles up as a sewing station, the common floor becomes a communal dining space. It takes the form of a meeting room, sometimes even a bar.

In a traditional fashion show structure, the designer appears to take a final bow on stage. If I am a piece of garment, my mum is then my designer.

Thank You. When Natalie first spoke about the opportunity to helm my own segment for Ceremonial Enactments, I was shocked. What an unusual curation! I was upfront about what i can deliver; my discipline is fashion design. Besides designing and making clothes, i wouldnt have the knowledge to put up a performance. Can fashion be a part of arts? How can this work help start a conversation on fashion shows appreciation? Can garments be performers? Can we change our relationship and the way we look at garments? Can a fashion show be considered a performance? You see, garments go through almost the same theatre making processes. From a spark of an idea, to scripting (sketches), to devising (experimental mockups), rehearsing (finalising and perfecting details and fit) to finally embodying a character (style). Rituals. Its never just a sketch (spell) and bibbidi bobbidi boo, a garment is realised. And just like the varied genres in performing arts, fashion too has its genres. It takes an understanding of fashion or a reconciliation with one's body and identity to imagine the construction, details in order to immerse in the journey. A fashion show sets the tone for the season and the collection to come and I am so blessed to have a team of very talented creatives to collaborate with. Brian Gothong Tan on multimedia, Randy Chan on Set, Philip Tan composed the music and Andy Lim on lighting design, all shaped and created a world to support the "performers" walking down the catwalk. Thank you! Thank you to my team WaiToh Wong and Wang Xingqi for working tirelessly on the collection. My muse Luth Seah Zhiqiang for being ever sp inspiring and taking on the challenge! Shou-Yi Goh for choreographing the piece. Lam Dan Fong The Backstage Affair for your professionalism and a huge support. WaiKit Chan for taking care of everything and making sure everything was ran smoothly! NOW Model Management Pte Ltd Addie Low thank you for such an amazing group of models. Dressers from Nafa, thank you for stepping up to this steep learning curve! Celestine Wong and Keira Lee, thank you for being so patient with me. - - continued in comments below.

ANG // Ceremonial Enactments Painting the Ah Mah shoes this morning. To celebrate the first birthday of a new born, babies are made to step on giant Ang Ku Kuehs known as Ka Ta Kuehs (腳踏粿). The stepping on the Ka Ta Kueh, followed by stepping into a new pair of shoes symbolises a smooth journey in life, and the parents’ wishes that the child will be down-to-earth in his or her future endeavors. 20 days to ANG @sifa_sg
