Sonic vigils are a space where we can feel, grieve, rest or just be with sound, alone~together.  infinity rug began addressing grief through communion and sound and now five years on, the causes of suffering seem only to multiply. We realise now more than ever that we need to forge moments to grieve, to clear space within us. Our sonic vigils differ from our durational sonic seances; stripped to the core elements we continue to hone the craft of creating intentional moments to experiment with ambient, drone and experiential sound and vibroacoustics while practice listening deeply, resonating, sleeping, mourning, meditating, drawing and being in space together non-verbally. We warmly welcome you to join us and lay down, drift off and allow the sonic vibrations to keep vigil. _ @_mina_mole Braga 4-8pm / 16h-20h May 24th / 24 de Maio This event is kindly supported by Rádio Quântica // Com o apoio da Rádio Quântica @quanticaonline Graphic design by @maison.cc.berlin

Wishing you all a blessed Spring Equinox 🌷 We’d like to take the opportunity to share with you the live set mnemosyna graced us with on longest night of last year, at our Winter Solstice Gathering 21 Dec 2025, now up on our SoundCloud. Listen back as mnemosyna takes us on a cinematic sonic journey through the darkest night, where undulating pulses, bells, and gurgling waterways are scattered with fragments of conversation, hinting at mysteries only visible in the dark.  This live set is dedicated to mnemosyna’s father who recently passed over. In her words, “for my father, the person who taught me to be kind and to live in the present. 1948-2026” 🕯️

We’re now on our yearly pilgrimage to Whole Festival @whole.festival where we will close the Ambient stage, from 1 to 5am on Monday, joined by poet Mx Cat @mxcat.mxcat We take this chance to share the 3rd and last part of the memorandum of the last sonic seance at Planeta Manas. After the live music, marum (@marum.welt ) cast a silent spell for all to become non-verbal and Lou Drago (@lou__drago ) offered a guided meditation weaving listeners to one another and the sound waves, leaving them suspended in an infinite sonic rug. Carolf’s (@ca_rolf ) experimental textures and sporadic rhythms blended seamlessly together from one dream motif to the next, as guests dived deeply into her sound world. Jules Petru (@julespetru ) offered a healing tonic from the Jug of Plenty, foraged and brewed by Aaron Lang (@a.h.lang ). In the fake backstage of murmurs, a fireplace crackled, while melodies lingered among the resting bodies and rugs, and Jules and Aaron dipped into Faggots and their Friends between the Revolutions. We collectively pondered the resonances between now and fifty years ago, finding kin among the faggots and the faeries and inspiration in their ways of resistance. Lou and marum continued the infinite sonic waves, treading delicately painting a sound world imbued with hope as the sun rose, gently awakening the slumbering dreamers with the first sun-rays. Thank you to all those who joined this final seance in Planeta Manas, our Lisbon home, and as much we mourn the loss of this space, we look forward to see how we will re-emerge from the cracks of the crumbling empire. Thank you Planeta Manas for your trust and collaboration this time and over the last years. Thank you to all those who helped and made this event possible, we really couldn’t do it without you, Sara, Ana, Miguel, Gonçalo, Azul, Dima, Fili. Thank you to @culturemoveseurope and Radio Quantica for your support 🙏 And thank you to 📸 @leakonigson ♾️ love, infinity rug

In the lead up to our last sonic seance, @marum.welt and @lou__drago joined @mutantradiotbilisi under @amin_diamin invitation for a 3h takeover with music, readings and storytelling. SoundCloud 🔗 in our bio. We share some analog photos of the set up by Ana and Carinho to continue the narrative of our last infinity rug at @planetamanas , capturing moments of the process of becoming. We opened the rug constellation with ‘bless your soul, you gotta go below’, a debut performance by el bango, Eloïse Grace Winter, moreyia, ARIYOUOK, oxyretronave and guzzo(@el_bango @eloisegracewinter @ari.you.ok @moreiya_ @oxyretronave @alexguzzo8 ) which wove together voices, both spoken and sung, ambient textures, gentle percussions and wistful trumpets. Through non-language, asemic transcriptions and symbol making, the group of artists traced the meanings of the prototypical glyph, experimenting with music-sound-language. Soon after, Nëss’s (@nessnby ) guitar drones created distorted and affected reverberations, his voice filled with introspection as sounds became words and we slipped into the hazey sonosphere. We dive back into the purple haze to share with you some fleeting dream-like impressions from our last sonic seance at Planeta Manas (@planetamanas ) in the company of guests @nessnby , @ca_rolf , @sarntolstice , @e.l.bango and his friends. We were so humbled by the generosity of João (@mtcarinho ) and his family who foraged and braided over a hundred meters of wild broom, installed as a sprawling tentacular alter branching into the rugs. The smell of the fresh broom and orange blossom filled the room and as it dried only got more fragrant. This plant-entity shaped the space of our dreams. We started the night with the screening of Sarnt Utamachote’s (@sarntolstice ) film ‘i don’t want to be just a memory’, that follows several groups of friends in Berlin’s rave scene chronicling their journeys with grief after the deaths of friends in recent years. Time flies and almost a year has passed since our last gathering at @planetamanas . We are delighted to come back to Lisbon, laying rug constellations, weaving oneiric entities together for a long night of sonic rituals. We open with the screening of ‘I Don’t Want to Be Just a Memory’, directed by Sarnt Utamachote @sarntolstice , that follows several Berlin groups of friends who remember loved ones who have died and reflect on the contexts in which life and death are expressed within queer communities. Mourning and persevering after the loss of a friend, how do we make sense of the mental health crises and rate of suicide within the queer community. The screening will be followed by a conversation with Sarnt, Nëss, marum and Lou. The night’s seance will be imbued with resonance from these topics as we gather on the rugs to process what emerges when we face these challenges head-on. We open the night with songwriter Nëss @nessnby , whose mournful songs range from punk to whimsical chants, and a multimedia performance by el bango @e.l.bango who grapples with tales of community, lineage and blackness. The night will thicken with the dreamful music of Living Room’s beloved Carolf @ca_rolf , and infinity rug’s hosts @lou__drago and @marum.welt who will play hybrid sets of deeper frequencies and emotions, against hopelessness, towards the sunrise. Performers Aaron Lang @a.h.lang and Jules Petru @shiazlegz with foraged delights and jugs of plenty, somatic games and spells, watching over us as a flickering candle in the night. João Carinho’s @mtcarinho ephemeral installations with salt and seasonal flowers will take the shape of an altar, a site for offerings to the beyond, a testament to life cycles, from Spring blossoms to withering leaves. You’re invited to bring your own rug, slippers, blankets and other comforts. We invite you to bring a photo or another offering for our altar.

Set recorded on the last night of @wakinglife.pt at Cochilo, under the influence of the Summer Solstice as the full moon wore off. Everyone laid down comfortably between sand dunes and each others bodies, just like at infinity rug, trusting marum and Lou’s deep and psychedelic music, paired with their voices, lulling people all the way to the first rays of dawn. This dreamful set pays homage to beloved lost friends, specially Rafi, Puerto Rican trans-raver and papi of two, who had recently passed and whose poetry you can hear recited. 🌕 listen on our SC (in bio) photos by @lyra.pramuk and @alias.illias

“So much happens in a touch: an infinity of others - other beings, other spaces, other times - are aroused.” Karen Barad Last December the fruits of many months of research, rehearsals and hybridizing collaborations culminated in an overnight sonic seance at @savvycontemporary , where we transformed the concrete walls of the former casino into a mystical rugged realm to explore and feel the tactile frequencies of sound. This beautiful footage, captured by @ethfol throughout that long winter night, offers a glimpse into the dreamstates induced, from the Gin Kyo grove down into the Cave of Murmurs. The music in the video is an original composition from Romeo Natur, one half of the opening act Diwana. After we approached him in the search for an experienced Ney player, we told him the story behind the name of infinity rug, inspired by the composition of the musician, poet, philosopher and mathematician Catherine Christer Hennix. Her “infinitary composition”, a research on raga music, minimalist drones, mathematical logic and spiritual traditions, led her to keep seeking new sounds and, during her time in Berlin, Romeo became her teacher of percussion, he told us surprised by the coincidence. A week before infinity rug, Hennix died in her home in Turkey. infinity rug emerged during a period of grief - and wants to continue as a space for exploration through sound. We are soon to start a new special project with infinity rug happening regularly in Berlin. Stay in touch. Aware of social media dependency and fatigue, we have started a mailing list. Check the subscription link on our bio and visit our website to watch the full video of infinity rug “ Sound as touch”. Thank you @vonkeira and @vincentreynaud.digital for all the help with the newsletter and website. infinite thanks to our dedicated team, collaborators, all our supportive loved ones. kindly @marum.welt and @lou__drago ~ relax your eyelids ~

Every summer it has become somewhat a tradition for many creatures of all kinds to migrate to Ferropolis for three days of (homo-)heterotopia at @whole.festival . We couldn’t be happier to be invited again to join this beautiful chaos of bodies and minds coming together for 3 days. With such a plethora of offerings, there’s no one way to do Whole. For the many of us whose last year has been marked by intense grief, we held our loved ones closer, danced hard, and fought for our shared values even harder. We remembered our queer and trans kin now in the ancestor realm, and vowed to continue our work in their honour. New friendships were forged, solidifying solidarity through a shared vision of liberation. On the last day we landed on a beautifully lit temple of ambient for a sonic seance that will be remembered as one where you bewitched us with poems, stories and chants, while so many proudly wore their tears, keffiyehs, fists and dreams. We started our 6 hour sonic journey with a soothing opening vocal meditation hosted by Singen3000 choir leader @georgeadje tuning our collective voice to receive the frequencies and words offered after. Our sets were interspersed with powerful and personal readings organised by @thawra____ , with @enana.music @onaslashelon @shhhhameless , @nicolas._.shatleh and @zzaina . @blaqq_bear transformed the space through their body’s language and presence, until we held a closing procession to @mtcarinho ’s floral altar honouring our lost loved ones. Thank you to @_keira____________ for your support and organising expertise, and to @billy._.ruth and Nes for tenderly caring for the space and our guests. Thank you @whole.festival for your trust and for allowing us to hold this space for grief among celebration. We loved weaving the sonic threads that embraced us that afternoon into evening, through the warm sun and shining moon, as the festival came to a close. love, @lou__drago and @marum.welt
