It took me some time to look back over the past 4 years, but here it is at last: a revamped website with new work. Stop by, but go play outside afterwards!
When you had a costume party this weekend, these demolition workers removed a bridge over the Brussels ring road. 12 hours of nonstop work, all for the love of their trade - and cowboy lifestyle, working in a highly polluted environment with heavy machinery bigger than they could have dreamed of as children.
Walking along the closed road, I imagined myself in a very different place from our ugly gray roads. The dirty dust in my lungs, the constant sound of the jackhammers, the vibrations through my body as if the ground under my feet would rip open. It was like theater, an immersive experience of a dystopian world.
New work for @vlaams_architectuurinstituut . I was sent to Wintercircus and Hartentroef in Ghent, M127 in Antwerp and Royal Belge in Brussels. The results are published in the beautifully designed ‘Flanders Architectural Review N16’.
