In 2006, a friend of mine was at my house for a group project and we took a break to watch the new music video for and artist she really liked. It took a while for “Tim McGraw” to load, but I remember that moment so vividly. My sisters and I each had our own copies of Taylor Swift’s Debut Album in our stockings that year and when she came to Plant City, Florida for a show on a random Sunday in March at the Strawberry Festival we were so excited to go.
Over the years I’ve always followed this music, loving her story telling and appreciating the artistry and how personal her music felt to my own life. I bought the albums on CD and then iMusic (when that was a thing) and then on vinyl. But I never took the plunge to buy tickets to her shows until this summer when Jess and I flew to Vienna.
Those shows were canceled due to a terrorist threat and while we had an amazing experience of community and love with other fans, it felt a little like a signal that I should just appreciate from afar. This tour certainly seemed out of reach. Until Katie reached out and invited me to join her in Toronto I can’t think of anyone I would have rather shared this weekend with.
The process of making this dress and then finally seeing the show live (with someone who is just falling in love with the music) felt like a celebration of 18 years in the making. Taylor has taught millions of people the value of finding something to unapologetically love and how you can find community through that process. What an absolute joy to be able to participate. ❤️

14 years ago today: with the ever-irascible, born-for-tv, Patti Stanger at the wrap party for season 4 of Bravo’s “The Millionaire Matchmaker,” based in NYC. The show was one of my fave guilty pleasures. Working as a producer on it provided life lessons in how reality (pun intended) is not what fantasy promises and careful what you wish for… and I have zero regrets. Showrunner Kathryn Vaughn taught me things I still hold close to my heart today. 📺🎬♥️ #copythat

Chef Masaharu Morimoto launches first-ever sushi competition show
Morimoto's show, available to stream on Roku on June 16, will be the first cooking competition show exclusively focused on sushi
THE FIRST TRAILER for chef Masaharu Morimoto’s sushi competition show “Morimoto’s Sushi Master” has dropped.
Best known as one of the original Iron Chefs, Morimoto will serve as a judge on the show, which will purportedly be the first cooking competition TV series exclusively focused on sushi.
Presented on the Roku Channel, “Morimoto’s Sushi Master” will run for six episodes and feature eight chefs from around the country in a series of challenges ranging from whole fish butchery to handling conveyor-belt-style sushi service, known as kaitenzushi.
The victor will win a cash prize of $25,000.
Joining Morimoto as judges are cookbook author and content creator Kenji Lopez-Alt and chef Dakota Weiss.
The series is hosted by Marvel’s “Runaways” star Lyrica Okano.
Competing chefs include Eric LeVine, Venoy Rogers III, John Sugimura, Frances Tariga, Lauren Lawless, Michael Collantes, Debbie Lee and Jason Minoda.
