@bartfromraw who’s arrived fully baked - absolutely ready to take his place alongside MANN, FINCHER, PAKULA. His decades directing at the forefront of docs and reinventing how stories are told, has delivered a classic of the genre, that’s filled with character, and depth. It’s timely, but timeless. It’s seeped in cinema history, but utterly fresh and new. It’s so well crafted and slick, while remaining raw and authentic. I was genuinely blown away - as a fan both personally and professionally, i LOVE this movie. I was lucky enough to photograph the pilot of LOCKED UP ABROAD with/for Bart 20 (yes count em!) years ago - and we dreamed of getting to make movies. And now he’s done it. And not only done it - but he’s made a film I’d be calling a movie that’s immediately among my favorite films - seriously - even without that history. It’s great. I can’t say enough about it. Please go and do yourself a huge solid and go see this movie as soon as you can. You’re going to spend the weekend annoyed there’s not more episodes of The Pitt to watch (this week they even referenced a
@rawtvltd doc in the episode!) or scrolling thru Netflix - I’m telling you - just click your nearest theater - and book a ticket right now.
