The journey documenting the love these two share has been an adorable experience, to say the least. One thing I admire about them is their friendship. My journey to Makoko was an experience I won’t forget anytime soon. Seeing firsthand the reality of an average child growing up there is both eye opening and heartbreaking. When poor quality education is combined with harsh living conditions, it becomes a recipe for lifelong poverty and disaster, which and result into things like armed robbery, some kids might be recruited by bandit and for the girl child she might be tempted to go into prostitution etc.
According to UNICEF, “75% of Nigerian children in school are still not learning foundational skills” a reality that is sharply felt by kids inside Makoko’s classrooms. In a country where over 18 million children are out of school, communities like Makoko reveal how geography and poverty turn a child’s right to education into a daily struggle.
This is the problem @theazriel.network is committed to tackling, and it gave birth to Project R.E.N.E.W. One of the project’s key goals, aligned with SDG 4: Quality Education, which is to help 260 children return to school and reclaim their right to learn.
Samuel is one among many children whose story represents both the challenge and the hope. And while progress has begun, there is still much more work to be done.

My visit to makoko was an experience I'm definitely not going to forget in a hurry 😅🤣 aside from the missing drone just looking at the reality of life of this people is something to draw inspiration from, for the fact that the environment screams hardship they still hold up beautiful smile!! Especially the little girl Augustina, looking at them really made me appreciate God for the life he has given me and to be more grateful and shower him with lots of gratitude.
The moral of this is give thanks to God in all seasons and conditions.
Big shout out to @theazriel.network for project R.E.N.E.W it's an amazing initiative and we need more of this in our world.

So I got hired by the L'Oreal brand to document and create visuals for their new store, This launch would be Nigeria's first luxury travel retail beauty boutique at the airport. I feel super honoured and delighted to document the entire process. A lot happened that day that could have aborted the job, but I'm grateful to God that His will prevailed in my life and career.
