Better late than never here’s what we got up to last December. 🎄
Last December, we partnered with @the_elviantribe to bring Christmas to children who needed it most. We fed a thousand mouths last Christmas because love should travel as far as it needs to.
Side note: the Egun dance will test your flexibility and fitness.😂

Nobody really understands what it means to volunteer until they do it.
It’s not just about showing up.
In fact, it goes way beyond “Hi, I’d like to volunteer” or “I’m passionate about volunteering” because haewww… there are moments that will make you question that passion 😂
It’s taking responsibility when things need to be done.
It’s being part of the reason things actually work.
It’s people with their own lives, their own schedules, their own problems, who still make space for this even when they don’t have to.
That’s the part nobody really talks about.
And that’s why any of this works.
To all our volunteers, and everyone who has ever shown up for this, we see you, and we truly appreciate you.

People find out I run an NGO and they assume things.
They assume there’s a grant. An office. A salary. Funding from somewhere that takes care of everything.
The reality is I have given things to this mission I will never get back.
Money I didn’t have. Time I couldn’t spare. Hundreds of emails and grant applications that were ignored and denied. Showing up over and over again whether it made sense to or not.
Draining myself financially, physically, in every way, for something I believe in but can’t always see clearly.
And when it’s over, you’ve made the impact ,and then it’s just you, figuring out how to get back up again.
Some days I ask myself if it’s worth it. It is.
It always is.
Someone reminded me recently that some things aren’t accidents, they’re assignments. And you don’t walk away from an assignment.
So here we are. Still building. 💙
