Drone Rodeo Vancouver: C.Diab and J.T. Gladysz Dec 28 2025 5 PM doors / 5:30 show @hyphaarts hypha arts and StretchMetal are proud to present Drone Rodeo, StretchMetal’s ambient music series in the round. @c.diab is Vancouver based instrumental musician Caton Hower Diab, composing and performing primarily for bowed acoustic guitar & trumpet. @jtgladysz has studied music formally and informally for most of his life. Initially based in Saskatchewan before relocating to the West Coast in 2009, his musical pedigree ranges from singer/songwriter to drumming in rock bands. His years of playing, touring, and releasing records with various groups are clearly reflected in his current output. In 2020, Gladysz expanded his practice to include more experimental and electronic realms of composition. Lush Vegetation, his debut full-length record, arrived January 27th, 2025 via the Montreal based cassette label- Isohyet. 🗻🗻All ages / no one turned away for lack of funds show. Back in January, @tsimka_martin & I did a project put together by CBC Vancouver Island that had us play a show at the Capital Theatre and do a language & music workshop at Haahuupayak School in Port Alberni. The entire experience was beautiful and fluid and rich with meaning. Many milestones achieved - our first concert with just us on the bill (and a full house too!), our first workshop we co-facilitated together (which went extremely well), and our first time with a conversation component to our show (which felt great and really helped give context and better meaning to what we do). Huge thanks to Haahuupayak School and the Tseshaht & Hupacasath Nations for hosting us, and for the dedication and hard work from CBC through coordinating it all. There are four CBC Radio Pieces that can be live streamed from their site at any time (that aired in February). And if anyone's curious, you can check out some of the sounds recorded with the Haahuupayak School students up on soundcloud.
