When it came to creating interiors for its new Spitalfields outpost,
@holycarrotrestaurant turned to
@t_o_o_g_o_o_d .
Inspired by the "veg-packed" menu and the area's history as a Victorian fruit and vegetable market, she came up with a design that would center around a mural depicting a whimsical scene.
In the hand-painted scene, human figures blend in with towering vegetables. “It is a testament to soil, sustenance, decay and eternal regeneration," Toogood said.
"I wanted the space, but especially this mural to dig into our connection to the earth and the food we eat."
Elsewhere, the materials remain simple: white tiles, metal, concrete, linoleum and raw canvas. Furniture comes in the form of custom-made, recognisable Toogood pieces, and antiques.
Using paper, the studio crafted a bespoke candelabra, with textured aluminium used to create the smaller table candleholders.
