A Trio of Olfactory Modalities | May 26, 2025
Scent Week 2025 | Institute for Art and Olfaction

I was proud to present my olfactory work for the first time for this event, executing a project that was five years in the making. My lecture featured five conceptual fragrances based on the life and work of Luis Barragán, fragrances with titles such as: Mexican open air spice market, horse stable for those who romanticize horses, the presence of God, wet clay seasoned by tequila dried by sunshine, and exit through the former studio now gallery to the gift shop. I am always delighted to speak about Barragán, and thankful to have a captive audience.

This event is proud to be a part of Scent Week, hosted by the Institute for Art and Olfaction. The artists involved in this event would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Institute for Art and Olfaction for boldly championing scent as a vital and expansive artistic medium, fostering experimentation, education, and access that continue to transform how we perceive, create, and connect through fragrance. (And for teaching me everything I know about olfactory arts, and the consistent encouragement to be fearless in my olfactory artistic practice!)
